Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, also known professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female signing for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The first album she released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she started to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first posted her music on the internet in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on July 21st. In the following year, her music circulated all over the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna was contracted by Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she went on to appear on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video was followed by a music video in September. On November 9 she dropped two more singles, the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On the 13th of November, two brand new singles called One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. She appeared with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, and then made the track available as a single by herself on her first album. This track, which was launched with a music video on YouTube on February 20, 2019, was watched more than 3 million times in the first 7 days. In December 2018 she was an opening act for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
