Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered the Emmy Award. She has also starred in shows like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was born the only child of her homemaker mother and an executive in her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life in the company of four brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed of being an official reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in highschool and eventually gained commercial roles when she moved into New York. As a teenager, her first role as an actor was on the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney was in numerous of television shows, films and dramas after that. Her career hasn't been successful or happy personal life. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism in the past and had two divorces. In 2005, she lost custody over her one son.
